Entiros recently delivered a Proof of Concept (POC) for a large Swedish finance company. The aim was to find a solution for API management and implement it in a test environment. The team at Entiros carried out an evaluation, set up a strategy, and delivered a functional solution in only 50 hours to a satisfied prospective client. 💪
That the prospective client required a Windows-based solution was challenging in itself, since this limits options for an API management product. We chose WSO2, an established open- source product that enables openness. The benefits of this product are that it doesn’t require a long-term licensing contract and it’s easy to get started quickly. It’s also built on proven technology that’s easy for people to learn to use (if they don’t know how already).
Another important factor is that the product can easily be connected to the company’s existing IAM (Identity and Access Management) solution, to ensure the highest possible security.
We also recommended the application framework Springboot to the prospective client. It’s important to think about limiting API management to what it’s really good at, that is, management, and complementing that with a framework like Springboot to be able to build microservices that manage logic behind the gateway.
